The FireStar's standard Hirth 3202 engine features a 2.58:1 gear reduction drive and a 66-inch fixed-pitch propeller, delivering impressive climb rates and a top speed of 80 mph.

Sturdy Construction

For unmatched strength and durability, the FireStar’s airframe features a robust fuselage cage made from factory-welded 4130 chrome-moly steel, with 4130 steel reinforcing all high-stress areas. The wings are built with rigid truss ribs, a sturdy 5-inch aluminum spar, and are covered in Stits aircraft fabric with permanent UV protection to prevent fabric degradation.

Sporty Handling

Like all Kolb aircraft, the FireStar features traditional cable and push-pull tube controls for a solid, responsive feel. With half-span ailerons that provide excellent roll authority at both high and low speeds, minimal power required to maintain slow flight, and optional mechanical brakes for confident stopping, the FireStar excels in tight landing areas, while the optional heel pedals enhance ground handling with a tighter turning radius.
